What an adventure! I have told here and there how I landed a role in director Pau Dalmau’s latest project, co-wrote my script with Mercè, and slipped into the shoes of Cuentacuentos, this Spanish-speaking storyteller with an increasingly rapid flow…

One evening in December, the film was ready. Pau had invited me to the free preview at Cinemes Girona. I often go there for its varied programme (particularly the Asian film cycle) and the reduced rates for members. Right next door, there’s Rasa Malaysia: good food served by a friend of mine. That evening, after inviting my acquaintances from Barcelona (some of whom had excused themselves in advance due to company dinners), I realised that very few of them had made the trip. Everyone’s bombarding you with stories to encourage you to take part in their paid workshops, but when it comes to returning the favour… I imagine that the day I’m presented with an honorary Goya, they’ll be jostling to get in the press photo.
